Does VoiceboxMD work with DrChrono?
Yes, on Mac and Windows. DrChrono runs in your browser, and VoiceboxMD types into whatever box your cursor is in, so clinical notes, assessments, plans, and patient messages all work. There is nothing to install or approve inside DrChrono itself.
Do I need to connect it to DrChrono, or use their API?
No. VoiceboxMD does not talk to DrChrono at all. It types where you are already typing, which is why there is no setup on the DrChrono side and no risk of an integration breaking after an update.
I chart on an iPad. Will this work?
Partly, and here is the honest version. On an iPad you dictate in the VoiceboxMD app and paste into DrChrono, because Apple does not allow any app to type into another app on iPadOS. If you want the words to appear directly in DrChrono, use a Mac or Windows computer. Many providers pair the two: the phone or iPad as the microphone, the computer as the screen.
Can it write the note for me instead of transcribing?
Yes, and it is on every plan. Either dictate a quick summary after the visit and let the AI turn it into a structured note, or let the ambient scribe listen to the visit and draft the note itself. You read it, change what you want, and paste or type it into DrChrono.
Is it HIPAA compliant?
Yes. A signed Business Associate Agreement is included with every plan at no extra cost, including during the free trial. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, recordings are deleted within 24 hours, and nothing you dictate is used to train AI models.
